My Approach to Helping

I believe that counseling is an integral part of successful personal development, and I am passionate about facilitating growth in my clients' personal and professional lives. I provide a warm, supportive environment and partner with my clients so they may better explore the journey of life's changes and learn to empower themselves. I work with men, women, teens, and children who are in various states of transition, including professional development, individual growth, and relationship enhancement, as well as sorting through the various challenges that life delivers. I believe that each person is resourceful and able to bring about their own healing in order to better thrive in their lives.
 

I see clients who seek counseling for a broad range of reasons, including:

- Relationship / Family Issues: pre-marital counseling, marital conflicts, intimacy and attachment issues, sexual issues, addiction and codependency concerns, infidelity, divorce recovery, blended families, communication skills, adolescent development, academic problems, family relationships, parenting skills and training

- Growth Counseling: grief and loss, career transitions, interviewing skills, employment issues, professional development, life transitions

- Health and Wellness: anxiety, depression, mood disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, stress issues, weight issues,  trauma and abuse recovery, adult children of alcoholic (ACoA) issues

I employ an array of counseling techniques that are tailored to meet each client's needs including: examining beliefs that cause behaviors, guided imagery, exploring spiritual life, and finding understanding and healing. When working with me, you can expect to work on here-and-now, present day issues, while identifying areas for healing and growth.

I believe that deep within each of us is the desire to be whole and healthy. I also believe that everyone has the capacity to change! My counseling services are regulated by the Georgia Composite Board of Professional Counselors, Social Workers, and Marriage and Family Therapists.

 

I provide counseling services that are in accordance with the board's code of ethics. I will implement and evaluate a treatment plan using interventions that include counseling, assessment, consulting, and referral.
